Installed 2.1 as instructed and made sure it was running. Update: I got the drive running on my server. I pulled out the PC emulator board as it wasn't doing anything. It has 6MB RAM on a RAM card, a video card of some sort with 9 pin connector, and the aformentioned SCSI card. I think getting the hard drive going first will help me greatly with the other software I will need to accomplish the file transfers I'm trying to get done. Upon trying to format the disk, the formatting program does not load, nor does the shell format command. It has not happened once, and I'm using DD disks. Then put a 720K PC floppy in the drive and it should come up PC0 instead of DF0. Everywhere I read, the installation is the same: Drag the PC0 file off the Storage disk, into Devs/DosDrivers on Workbench and reboot. On top of that, just trying to get the PC0 CrossDos system to work has been a brick wall. I could probably be a lot farther along if I could find those. I'm so new to this, that I can't even get Amiga Explorer running because I can't figure out where the serial controls are. I assume this would solve the problem with the HDTools on the install disk not detecting any hard drives. I can now boot off of a Workbench 3.1 disk and navigate the interface, but I read that there is a program that is used to set the hard drives (did I mention there are/were 2? 1 Died when I started it up on the cable by itself.) on the card. The computer would not boot past the white screen until I pulled out the card and later, discovered the jumper for autoboot. This particular unit has a SCSI controller/hardcard. I'm pretty new to Amigas in general, and aside from my already posted problems with the new Kickstart chip, I've been trying to acheive the original goal I set when I first got the 2000: Get it all running.
